What you will Learn

Sashiko translates as ‘little stabs’ and is a type of traditional ancient Japanese stitching used for the practical and beautiful reinforcement of fabric. It can be quick to complete and can make stunning textile creations.
In this session, the basics you need to know about Sashiko stitching are explained as well as the fabric, needles and thread used.
You will practise Sashiko stitches and patterns on fabric patches and learn different ways to keep stitches uniform.
The Sashiko patches made can be used for garment repair or to create wearable art garments.
